New PDA phone – Any pointers on how to use it or what it does?

May 19th, 2009 1 comment

I have just purchased a new PPC-6700 phone through Sprint. The phone is very complex, it is going to be fun learning to use it. But I am not trying to reinvent the wheel. Do any experienced PPC-6700, or PDA users have any advice, idea's, or pointers?

you don't have to think that it is complicated its not at all

just deal with it as normal phone when you want to use the phone

generally it has a windows mobile 5.0 as you see just like dealing with the computer

go to Start and there u will find all the softwares and the programs just click on the program one by one to learn about it

start basic and by the time u will start to know complicated things about it

if you have any specific question after that just ask and we are here to answer :)

have fun

What is the current Best PDA phone in the market?

May 17th, 2009 6 comments

What would you recommend for Best PDA phone currently available in the market? Which 1 is suitable for new beginner/user? It must be relatively high performance with reasonable price. Name 1 model, brand, price and reason.
No non-sense answer and comments pls.. thank you guys!!!!

If you like Windows, and are used to the Windows enviorment, then I would definately suggest the Blackberry 8700. From what I hear, this is the phone no one returns.

I have not used it. I have, on the other hand, used both the Cingular 8125, and the Palm Treo 650. I own the Treo, and therefor am partial to it. But it is not a Windows based phone, and might take a little more getting used to. Once you do get used to it, it works great.

Palm is going Windows mobile though, and their new devices will be Windows based.

The Cingular 8125 is a great choice as well, and very stylish if you want a cellphone/PDA. I am getting one of these for my wife this holiday season. She has asked for the Slivr L7, but it isn't a PDA, and I want her to get a PDA.

If you really want a comparison from people who have owned the phones, then you should visit the site that most "experts" go to to get an opinion on these things. http://www.phonescoop.com

This is the one stop site you will ever need to make a decision on PDA/handhelds.

If you are looking for the second best site in the industry, then go to http://www.engadgetmobile.com

These two sites will give you more information than you can imagine in making a nice informed choice.

Can I use a PDA phone with wifi with out paying for a data plan via my verizon account?

May 14th, 2009 3 comments

I would like to purchase a pda phone, on ebay maybe, and use wifi capability at wifi hot spots but verizon says i will be charged for data. What gives

were talking the difference between a Smart Phone and a Pocket PC. If verizon you have a Few choices if you want the WiFi, the XV6700 is great. The Samsung i730 also has Wifi, and the Soon to be released XV6800. The only data you Have to pay for is your data plan, not WiFi, you can get on a Pay as you go Data plan, and Turn it off on the phone and only use wifi. Verizon Data Plans are far toooo Expensive.

What is PDA phone. How it is differ from other mobile phones?

May 12th, 2009 3 comments

I like to know what is the full form of PDA phone. What are the benefits of over other mobile phones

Personal digital assistants (PDAs) are handheld computers that were originally designed as personal organizers, but became much more versatile over the years. PDAs are also known as pocket computers or palmtop computers. PDAs have many uses: calculation, use as a clock and calendar, playing computer games, accessing the Internet, sending and receiving E-mails, video recording, typewriting and word processing, use as an address book, making and writing on spreadsheets, use as a radio or stereo, and Global Positioning System (GPS). Newer PDAs also have both color screens and audio capabilities, enabling them to be used as mobile phones (smartphones), web browsers, or portable media players. Many PDAs can access the Internet, intranets or extranets via Wi-Fi, or Wireless Wide-Area Networks (WWANs). One of the most significant PDA characteristic is the presence of a touch screen.
